Ani joined Maceo and band for one of the opening numbers. She sang backup.

During "Not So Soft", Ani screwed up the line about "They build buildings to house people" and she went off for a good three minutes on an improvisational thing about how what you know might be true one day and then not the next, and things contradict themselves and what is true in one song isn't true in another, etc. etc. before returning to the song and finishing it up strong.

She also flubbed a line of "The Diner": somewhere in there she added "Because I say so, that's why" or something to that effect.

A great show! Only four from "Up Up Up Up Up Up" and two new ones -- I was expecting more. Oh well. Nothing to complain about.

The show was fantastic - if you were there during Maceo I was the guy in the pink ringer tee dancing my ASS off!!! Maceo has my seal of approval bigtime - Courtney was really great on the 1's and 2's as well!!!

Anyway - on to Ani...

I really enjoyed the set list, the crowd seemed ok (except during Come Away, when nobody would shut the -- up! god people, respect?), and Ani really seemed in a good mood - the groove was on - then again this will be the only show I see on this tour so I don't have much to compare to...

I really enjoyed hearing You Had Time (it's Laura's fave and she was sobbing all over the place) - Not So Soft is always great - I was hoping for Overlap but whatever - i'm flexible -

To The Teeth is beautiful, poignant, profound... and true.

Great show - and to the guy infront of me - you got me stoned...
