First off, I just have to say every time I see Ani I think it will
never be any better than the time before... she always manages to come
up with some new way to completely overwhelm me.... the atmosphere at
the Durham show at the Whittemore Arena was great, considering last
year some people were rude (shoving, screaming in the middle of songs
so Ani yelled for them to stop)...
Drums And Tuba opened for Ani and they were really good I thought...
Ani opened with Virtue which led into Know Now Then... on the third
song (Jukebox, I believe it was) one of her guitar strings broke...
Ani sreamed and laughed... and since she didn't have a guitar it became
one big jam session... she just totally went wild dancing to the rest
of the band... then she started rapping My IQ... it was totally
different than I had ever heard... the whole night Ani seemed to be
really happy and hyper... at one point her microphone stopped working
and she bent it and hit it screaming "I hate technology" over and
over... at other times Julie joined her as they danced and swayed and
bobbed their heads up and down (it was really cute)... Ani
interjected a few quick stories with us... overall I loved the
concert... ani seemed to be getting into the songs with such
emotion... (especially Done Wrong) ...
Ani played 2 new songs... one of them was the one someone already
mentioned... about angels... only this time she didnt need a cheat
sheet!! i loved it!! and the other song.... had a line in it about "do
you dream?"... i cant believe i dont remember more than that....
anyways.. they were both great....
I've written a lot here for my first time... i apologize to those of
you who could care less about my exciting night.
