Neil's review

Well, Battery Park was last night and it was a great, great show. We were, though, stuck in a downpour for a long time before the show started. Thankfully, though, it cleared up half an hour before the show started.

Rebirth Brass Band were alright. Not everything they did turned out all that great. And the fact that we were all impatient for Ani to come onstage didn't exactly help.

When Ani did come onstage, she seemed to be in a really good mood. Very talkative with the crowd, all that good stuff. Don't ask me to repeat the setlist because I just can't remember it all right now. She did play a bunch of new songs, including "Up, Up, Up" and "Come Away(?)." And she played "In or Out" as a solo acoustic number for us. Of course, lots of annoying people were also there, but at least she didn't play "Untouchable Face" and give them the opportunity to scream during the chorus. One particularly annoying girl felt the need to scream out "I love you Ani!" (with a terribly hoarse and disgusting voice) during "Pulse." Several of us had been wishing we could tear out her voicebox before the show, and that moment really made us wish that we had. She also did the best version of "Two Little Girls" I have ever heard her play.

Really, though, I just don't know what to say. For the most part, the crowd seemed generally cool. And Ani, Andy, Jason and Julie were all very much on, as well, so like I said, it made for a great show. It made being drenched for a long time beforehand completely and totally worth it.
