Just wanted to say that I went to the Ani show in Minneapolis on the 23rd, Thursday night. It was great, however, it was my fourth show, so of course I have my fave show and this isn't it. But it was still good. The audience wasn't too obnoxious. I thought it was interesting that last time she was at the Northrup, she said something to the audience about capitalism and democracy's inability to co-function and everyone in the crowd was stupidly silent except a few. Well, this time, she said pretty much the same thing and people were clapping and cheering. Amazing what a more mature audience can do for an Ani show. Anyway, my only real disappointment was that she didn't play When Doves Cry. I have been listening to you all talk about it for so long now, I just couldn't wait to hear it for myself. So I was a bit disappointed. But she did play "fixing her hair" which is one of my faves... I almost cried cuz I was at the show with my friend who reminds me of the woman "humming a melody we learned in grade school". Anyway, I don't have a set-list... and it's been too long now to try and remember what all she played. I think it was pretty similar to the rest of the set lists I have seen from other shows. Her final encore was a great bongo duo with Andy. That was fun. The show was also rather short, for an Ani show anyway. Oh well, next time maybe they'll have a limited seating venue like at first ave or something. That'd be fun... and much more intimate.
